One of the most pleasant times I've hiked on the Davis Path - due to the snow cover, which seemed to cushion my step and fill in the cracks. There is lots of partially frozen mud/ice on the Davis in a short section between the junction of the Isolation Trail and Iso Spur, mostly avoidable. Rocky Branch Trail was your typical walk through a stream bed, tedious but not too terrible for shoulder season. The Engine Hill Bushwhack was peaceful and stunning, soft underfoot just before we met up with RBT. Nice meeting Bradygirl1 and chatting it up on the way out.
Beautiful day in the mountains! |
