A blue and yellow dog vest is hanging on a peg in Eliza Brook shelter, I left it. I picked up an orange hat near S. Kinsman summit, packed it out. |

Great trail conditions for November. The weather was much milder than the mountain forecast, it was well above freezing, even though it was quite windy and foggy at the top. Hardly any ice left to speak of, and the awkward rock slabs are rough and grippy when free of ice. There were 8 cars in the lot at 11:30 when I dropped my bike off at Mt. Kinsman trail, but only 1 when I returned at 4:00. I only saw 3 people, near the end. The bike ride on Rte 116 took 23 minutes for 3.5 miles with 322 feet of climbing. I think this was my 11th time up there. |
