I parked in Winter lot. The road to summer lot is in very rough shape for the short distance from the last house to the lot. Considering the short distance between the two lots, I think the winter lot is the better choice unless you have a very high clearance vehicle. |

A dusting of snow at the trailhead, increasing to about an inch up high. Several areas around the spring on the traverse were quite icy in the morning shade, but softer on the way down. I never felt the need for spikes, but some places did require careful foot placement. Beautiful views from both Starr King and Waumbek viewpoints! The walk through the hardwood forest section was also very pleasant. |
