Comments
Comments: Middle Mtn. at Pawtuckaway State Park. After finishing the first season as trails crew in the park, today was a day to simply hike and not work. I've had this loop over Middle Mtn. in mind for a while.

I walked Tower Rd. to the beaver pond then bushwhacked up the steep SE slope of the mountain, aiming for the cliffs/ledges at the end of Middle Mtn. Trail. Aside from the steep grades, the whack was easy and with the (slippery) leaves down I could see the ledges nearly the whole time. Once at the ledges I followed Middle Mtn. Trail across the ridge, visited the new summit sign, then headed down to Tower Rd. and walked that back to the car.

Middle Mountain doesn't see as much action as the north and south peaks but there were a few other hikers out today. A lovely afternoon with cool temps and abundant sunshine.
