| Comments: |
Signal Ridge trail is in need of maintenance in the flat area where it follows the stream. Erosion has caused it to become a precarious cliff walk for 100ft or so. The trail is hardly marked at all, but easy to follow even with a thick layer of leaves on the ground. The rest of the trail from about halfway up the steeper section is starting to become winter-like conditions. I did not need traction and was fine in trail runners, but a set of old microspikes that you don't mind beating up on rocks would not have hurt for some of the black ice sections. The fire platform up top is starting to become covered in rime ice, and offers amazing 360 degree views of the Whites/Pemi wilderness. |
