Ground was generally dry and clear up to about 1100 meters. Trace snow started at that point. Below treeline on Falling Waters there was maybe a 50 foot section of ice. You could be careful and dance around it, but you really needed microspikes. The ridge was largely barren. Snow from earlier in the week had melted or blown off. Very little ice. Going down from Lafayette, there was some ice above treeline. Then there was extensive ice from slightly below the treeline down to Greenleaf hut and then for a little ways after Greenleaf hut. Would definitely recommend light traction. You could often dance around on exposed nubs of rock, but would not recommend. Also, because the majority of this ice was shaded below treeline, I wouldn't guess that it's going to disappear.
