Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked near Pond of Safety Road on the Vernon D Lowe trail, which was really a dirt road. The road was muddy but in good shape until very near the trailheads for Four Soldiers and Underhill Path. A 4WD will be helpful. Easy parking for both Boy Mountain and Slide Brook.

Comments
Comments: Three hikes: the first was a loop of Four Soldiers, Underhill Path, Crescent Ridge over Mt Randolph, then down and out on Four Soldiers. I meant to park on Pond of Safety Road but took a right instead of a left at the last junction, but it all worked out. Good blazing on all trails and Crescent Ridge trail was particularly nice. Second hike was an out-and-back to the summit of Boy Mountain. This wide and steadily steep trail would be perfect for sledding when the snow flies. Nice open summit with a bench there to take it all in. Just a 14 minute hike down. The third hike was an out-and-back of the Slide Brook trail. This was flat and easy and looked like it might be wet in the spring, but was dry today.
