| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Bunnell Notch has 2 areas at around 1.5 miles in where the stream is overflowing into the trail and causing major erosion. A little further along there is an area at the bottom of a short descent where the side of the trail has slid off toward the stream. It appears to me that a relocation following the contour higher above the stream would be a fairly short and relatively easy fix to the latter problem.
There are also several areas where braided user trails are adding to erosion issues. |

| Comments: |
It was a very pretty walk through the open woods to Bunnell Notch. Kilkenny Ridge is fairly rough and the rocks were wet and slippery in spots, although ice was minimal. Sitting in the warm sun on Bunnell Rock watching the undercast dissolve was a highlight. The viewpoints near the cabin are becoming more compromised by tree growth. I saw no evidence of moose in the area, which is different than my prior hikes in the area, but I did flush a couple grouse today. |
