Comments
Comments: Started up Mount Kinsman Trail from Route 13 at 6:30 AM. We bare booted all the way to bald peak. First half a mile of the trail is free of any snow. After that snow accumulation around 2 to 3 inches of wet, sticky snow. The water crossings, headed up to bald Peak were no problem easily rock hopable. We got about a half a mile past the bald Peak junction and Snow depth became too much for for us since we didn’t have our snowshoes. Spikes would have been tough because of the balling with the sticky snow. Decided to turn around after 2 1/2 miles. Passed 7 other hikers on our way out.
