Comments
Comments: We barebooted until the Dodge Cutoff, where the three people ahead of us turned. Snow up to this point had varied from a 1/2” of slush down low to 5” at the trail junction. We donned snowshoes and proceeded up Hi-Canon. There was a lot of snow (especially above the ladder where there was 12-15”), but another foot would have made for better snowshoeing. Once at the junction with KRT, the snow amount lessened and there had been more traffic coming up KRT. Bare boots or spikes would have been ok here. We kept on snowshoes from Dodge Cutoff to the summit and then down to the top of the ladder. Switched to rock spikes and wore them the rest of the hike.
