| Comments: |
6-10" of snow below 3,000 feet (with a few mucky areas and slush underneath), 12"-18" above. Snowshoes are a liability below 3,000 feet, but an asset above. Most folks in snowshoes up high, but those without were spinning their tires and creating divots/postholes. Last person down will determine trail conditions for tomorrow morning - frozen potholes or a nice snowshoe trough. Firmly frozen above the top ski area herd path and not too bony.
Mt. Tecumseh summit loop (right) hadn't been touched, so once again snowshoes were an asset. A few 2-3 foot drifts up top. Summit in the clouds.
I do not recommend using the ski trails for the foreseeable future, as there are active snowmaking operations above and below the ski area view spur, with power cords and high pressure hoses hooked up. |
