Great shakedown winter hike. Trail is in good shape, well packed. A little bony down low. There were a lot of hikers out today. Most in spikes, a few in light snowshoes, a few bare booting. Probably any of those would have worked, though there were a handful of icy rocks especially as the day wore on. Pleasant in the woods, quite windy heading up after the trail junction, then calmer but quite cold at the summit. Views were socked in, unfortunately. |
