Comments
Comments: We donned snowshoes at the beginning of Beeline and kept them on until back on the road. The only place where they were a hinderance was on our descent down Sargent Path. That trail was quite steep and had way less snow than anywhere else. Should have removed them, but didn’t feel like stopping and strapping them back on the pack. Snowshoes were 100% necessary for Pasture Path and Crescent Ridge. The snow near the top of Pasture path was 12+” of unbroken powder. Tonight’s storm will only add more…bring snowshoes if you plan to visit this area soon. Most trails that we encountered were completely unbroken or had a minimal trough from barebooters sometime last week.
