Only a few inches of powder at the trailhead, but snowpack increased almost instantly at the cellar hole. I barebooted, but in hindsight snowshoes would have been more efficient and easier. Very little foot traffic above the cellar hole since yesterday's snow (seemed closer to half a foot of new powder up high, with overall snowpack more than a foot. It is generally powdery, so I can't imagine the lower elevation snow will hold up to next week's forecast.
Sunny, windy afternoon with temperatures in the 20s. |
