Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The little ones are fine, but the big one closer to the falls (Clark Brook) was too dicey for us. Snow-covered rocks and plenty of moving water. Too cold to risk falling in!

Comments
Comments: 20 degrees and windy at the parking lot, my fingers were ice cubes by the time we were geared up. Warmed up quickly once we started moving. Broke trail in 4-6" of snow, til we hit that water crossing a mile or so in. Snowshoes were definitely the right choice but they took a beating on the rocks. Sunny and not so windy in the woods made for a pleasant 2 mi. hike. We decided to do a little more, so took the Manning trail to the Holt Trail out of the parking lot, for about.75 mi., turning around just shy of the bridge. Snow covered tracks so we laid down a nice snowshoe track on top of them. Didn't see a soul. We were the only car there except for one snow covered car in the lodge parking area.
