Trails were packed, but still soft this afternoon. Old Mountain Road had a decent snowshoe track, but someone barebooted down it today, postholing into slush in places. Crawford Ridgepole had a nice snowshoe track set. Snowpack was generally around a foot with some deeper drifts on the ridge.
Steady snow started around 4 with some wind on the ridge.
Snowshoes strongly recommended tomorrow with the fresh snow and warming temperatures and subsequent post-rain freeze later this week - any barebooting over the next few days could leave an ankle turning mess for the weekend. |
