 | Water Crossing Notes: |
The main crossing was very high and not rock hoppable. Spent a decent amount of time going up and down the stream trying to find a better spot before finally giving up and chancing the waterproofness of my boots. Bring your trash bags if you want to cross this dry. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Must have been about 30 blowdowns starting at the steep section going up East Peak and along the way to Osceola. A lot looked very fresh and are a significant hindrance. |

This trail is a mess right now. The first 2 miles or so have large stretches of muddy wet patches with no snow. Snow pack is very spotty down low. Water crossing is difficult. Running water and bare rock on the steep sections up higher. Parts of the trail you’re just walking up a stream. Higher up there’s significant blowdowns in the trail that require going off trail in the deeper snow to get around. Tried using snow shoes but it was mostly useless until you get above the steep sections going up East Peak. You’ll need them on the ridge as the trail had a lot of drifts and deep snow. Coming back down I was able to bareboot back to the car once I was below the steep sections again. Very exhausting day. I wouldn’t recommended this hike until we get some better conditions. |
