 | Comments: |
First mile and a half is a mix of bare ground, snow, and minor ice. From 1.5 to 3.0 miles is on and off ice flows with sections of bare rock and snow. The ice flow spots will slow you down but are not dangerously icy as there is always a rock or a tree to help if your rock spikes aren't biting in or need a helping hand. Last 0.75 miles to the hut is packed snow and easy going. Above treeline to Madison along Osgood is more rock than snow with some small ice patches. There is more snow coverage to Adams, making it a more pleasant out and back via Gulfside and Airline.
Until the next storm that drops significant snow bring your rock spikes.
Beautiful morning above treeline with abundant sunshine, almost no wind with warmer temps above 4K than down in the valley. |
