Comments
Comments: MicroSpikes or other light traction worked well. I used last year's somewhat worn microspikes. The surface was hard packed snow with occasional ice spots. The ice was easily traversed using traction.
Had a nice talk with Hiker Ed. There were many Maine women on the trail today. Also met hikers from NH, MA, VT, and Long Island NY.
Great views up the southern Presidential Range to Mt Washington as well as Mt Jefferson. Good view to the Montalban Range.
As expected, plenty of Gray Jays out today. No wind!
