Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Standing/Running Water on Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The log bridge and other crossing were easily navigated.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Dicey Mills was clear of any blowdowns until after the Rollins junction. They were easy to get by. The first part of the Rollins trail was clear. Up higher on the trail there were some Ginormous blowdowns. There were bypasses stomped out. There were also a lot of smaller blowdowns. I cleared many of the smaller blowdowns and cut off limbs from some larger ones to make passing them a little easier.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: No dogs. No other hikers.
Bugs
Bugs: A spider crossed the trail.

Comments
Comments: So glad to grid out these two peaks today. I bare booted to the log bridge then put on the hill sounds for the rest of the hike until back at the road walk. Dicey Mills was nice hard pack although there was some running water beyond the Rollins junction, some avoidable, some not. Rollins was a looser but still very solid. The snowshoes went for a ride. Navigating all the blowdowns took some extra time. Hopefully after some of the trimming, it'll be a little easier on the next hiker. All in all, it was a good day. Hard to know what things will be like after the coming weather.
