Comments
Comments: First mile of trail was completely bare ground and not to muddy. Next mile had minor ice patches here and there but avoidable. Bare booted past the intersection of Bald Peak and then spikes went on as the trail was getting slippery from a solid frozen thin ice layer over the snow. For a bit the trail had bare spots in the middle were the water runs down and crusty snow on the sides but then it went to a nice solid pack which was great. Lots of blowdowns to maneuver around. The ridge was excellent and all the ledge was covered in a great snow pack that made it easy going. All around better conditions than I expected.
