A FINE day in the forest was had this morning for the BSB (before sunrise B******) crew. All tracked out, about 2-3" of new fluffy dry powder down low. Looks to be upwards of 4-6" of the same dry fluffy stuff on the summit, as the cairn has been reburied since my last visit Tuesday. Still a tough call with snowshoes vs spikes on this one. There really is very little cover below 2800 - it was mostly bare to the water crossing Tuesday PM. It's still boney are potentially challenging until the steeps with snowshoes. The steps are still visible in areas. Not worth using shoes, even for the televators. More of a hazard than a help at this time. It's a drag strip rock solid base underneath everything. This grids out calendar December for me. 349/366. |
