| Comments: |
These trails are in great shape right now. Barely a dusting of snow over hardpack. We wore spikes up and over North until just after the junction with Sabbaday Brook Trail (not broken out) where the recent tracks seemingly ended. Here we tossed on snowshoes and broke through drifty powder between 6-12" deep to Middle and back to the same spot. Then spikes for the return. The steep sections were not icy but were smoothed out by butt slides, sharp spikes and good foot placement to stay upright when descending.
There were no tracks going to South, only faint tracks on both Scaur Trail and MTT to North Slide. Surprisingly we were the only ones on the Tripyramids today. |
