Volunteers Ken and Bob were taking care of the rest today. Thank you!
Because of some car issues we got a late start. There are sidewalk conditions up to Pierce with occasional minor icy spots so spikes were ideal. From Pierce north is significantly drifted with several blowdowns that can be worked around. The track through the drifts is very narrow which would make snowshoeing difficult. We ran out of time and turned around about 2/3 of the way to Eisenhower. A group had made it up Eisenhower so it should be entirely tracked by spike wearers, such as it is.
Beautiful hike with Chris in cold but calm conditions with stunning clouds and light. |
