| Water Crossing Notes: |
There are several little water crossings on the loop I did. No big crossings to worry about unless you continue north on Three Ponds Trail past Donkey Hill Cutoff. Right there, the trail crosses a sketchy beaver dam. I did not attempt to cross the beaver dam this time. |

I did the Three Ponds Loop clockwise. The first two miles of Three Ponds Trail is packed by snowmobiles. Just below the first pond, the snowmobile trail diverges right and Three Ponds Trail bears left. I broke trail from that point to the Donkey Hill Cutoff junction. Then I broke trail for the entire length of Donkey Hill Cutoff. Fortunately, we are just talking about 6-8 inches of light powder from earlier this week. The going wasn't too difficult.
Mt. Kineo Trail was already broken from Donkey Hill Cutoff all the way back to Three Ponds Trail. Even though Mt. Kineo Trail is boney in spots, I kept my snowshoes on for the entire hike. Here's hoping the snow keeps falling to refresh those trails.
