Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Very easy day for Pepper with well packed and fast trails and a short hike. He did have some icing on his paws from the small amount of new snow and mild temps. We met two other dogs having fun including a favorite Hannah (with Sarah) so we exchanged dog treats.

Bugs:
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: One blue/black fleece hat between Willey and Field found. I put it on a small tree thinking it probably belonged to a group we had recently met on our way back from Willey.

Comments
Comments: I used Hillsounds the entire hike; others on the trails used snowshoes, microspikes, crampons or bareboots. We encountered mostly a small covering of new snow over well packed snow; very little ice, with just a few spots of drifted snow. On the hike down at Avalon we passed a very enthusiastic group of young adults who had hiked up in coats and sneakers to Avalon (postholing on the side of the trail in the steep sections) and were (judging from the sounds) enjoying the butt sliding down. We shortly met another group coming up carrying air filled plastic doughnuts obviously planning on doing the same.
