Comments
Comments: Amazing conditions today. Almost no wind and not a cloud in the sky. Wore micro spikes to start up Ammo but quickly changed into snowshoes. Probably could have worn spikes on Mt Monroe loop, was very boney and icy but still made it fine. Snowshoes were the absolute perfect choice for today, some deeper drifts going towards Washington and down from the Cog where I noticed some postholes and tried to fill in. Lots of snowshoe and ski tracks heading down the Cog. The steep, sketchy sections were still pretty scary, but made it down fine with slow movements and digging snowshoes in. Perfect winter day!
