Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Happy to find there was only 1 blowdown, I took care of it. There are some huge leaners in the first quarter mile that aren’t a problem right now, no limbs, just foot thick trunks. That’s a job for the pros.

Comments
Comments: I started at 1:45 pm (thinking I’d at least catch sunset and check on trail conditions), and made it all the way to the summit. I wore spikes the whole way down, but switched around a lot between bare boots, spikes, and snowshoes on the way up. The road walk had good icy crusty coverage, only a couple short bare patches. Still a solid snowmobile track along the base road too. There was minimal post holing (by me) on the hard monorail above the glacial potholes, then mostly bare rock above treeline (with some rime ice). No slush, Yay! Temperature was perfect, just below freezing. I made it back to the car by 7 pm.
