Comments
Comments: I wore microspikes up to 3K and then switched to snowshoes. Surprisingly, the last mile had to be rebroken as there was a consistent half-foot to foot-plus of windblown snow, which was relatively easy to break. Winds were strong along Signal Ridge and on the tower in the morning but the views, especially over to the Presi's, were stunning as waves of clouds flowed over the range.

On the way down twenty hikers were coming up, 17 in snowshoes, so there should be an excellent track laid out. I cutoff the switchback around 2560'to 2230' on the way down breaking out an old skidder road which saves a few minutes, I know a few others planned to take it so it should have a decent track but probably very soft.

As of this morning, I'd still recommend snowshoes higher up but if any PM finishers submit a report maybe they will have better info on if it could be spiked up without chewing up the snowshoe track.
