Comments
Comments: We put on snowshoes a short ways down Valley Way. The base is supportive under few inches of loose powder, snowshoes were the most efficient choice. Above treeline is still very boney with some deeper drifts, didn't hit any hardpack. We beat on the snowshoes most of the way up Adams then went to spikes for the summit and kept them on. Whichever choice you have on your feet there are downsides, had a few knee deep post holes between rocks. Osgood was better, not so drifty. There were at least 6 other hikers who snowshoed up Valley Way packing down the snow, so it was in good shape for just spikes on the way back down.
