I used snowshoes and poles the whole way today. There were plenty of people out, with all ranges of traction devices. No issues until after Monroe when I attempted to take the Camel Trail to Boott Spur. Visibility was very low (Crawford path was difficult enough to follow even with fresh tracks), but the Camel was impossible without staring at my gps constantly. Somehow I had almost been on Dry River trail too haha. I gave up on that nonsense and turned around after a quarter mile or so. There was one area on Ammo below the hut that seemed like everyone went off trail through some spruce today. But the tracks tend to disappear quickly with all the powder blowing around. |
