Just a dusting at the parking lot but progressively more snow going higher. After Roberts we switched to snowshoes to avoid turning an ankle in the frozen postholes. Took them off for the descent of Oak Ridge Cutoff, then discovered ORC had lots of ice and put on spikes. From Faraway we bushwacked a quarter mile to get to the hairpin on High Ridge rather than backtrack - easy schwack. Some pix of surface conditions in link below |
