Comments
Comments: First one up this morning. Bareboot to intersection. Spikes until start of steeps. Snowshoes back to that point, then spikes to car. Mountaineering snowshoes with televators were a HUGE help on the steeps and the ridge. Guy behind me had them also and we stomped out the shallow drifts on ridge. A dozen microspikers struggling up the steeps, some carrying lightning ascents on their packs? Only guy in full crampons had switched out of spikes and was still sliding around in the thin layer of loose powder. Snowshoes are your friend:) took the double bypass which was broken out and easy.
