Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Oh my starry stars, I have the best news! The USFS has put in new trail signs at one of the confusing spots on this trail. Yay!! We have been talking about this problem for more than 2.5 years, and that spot is no longer a problem!! I took out one small blowdown that I had heard about (I am the trail adopter). Everything else is good to go!
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: This is my dog’s third trip on this route; she had a blast, as always!

Comments
Comments: I hiked counterclockwise, beater spikes the whole time. Until we get more snow, if you don’t love descending sketchy ice flows, I would recommend hiking clockwise. There are stretches of ice between the big bouldes and the East Ledges - this is the most significant ice that I can remember ever seeing on this trail. It’s dealers choice whether you want to bring your sharp, new spikes or your beater spikes as there are significant bony parts as well. There were more people out today than I thought there would be, given the wind.
