Lost and Found
Lost and Found: One Black Diamond pole with a red snow basket was standing up by the side of the Crawford and there was a black glove carefully placed on a snowy mound also on Crawford. We did not move them but both are very obvious.

Comments
Comments: WARNING: There are a couple of “false” trails leading from Mitzpah hut that can be confusing even if you know the area. At least one was very well packed out and fooled us even though we’ve hiked this many times. It ended in a dead end. A similar situation happens along Mitzpah Cutoff if you’re coming from the hut toward Crawford. If you’re not paying attention the trail appears to dead end, but about 50 feet back it actually makes a sharp right to go around a blowdown.

Nauman tentsite is actually in great shape and there’s plenty of packed down space to pitch multiple tents (there were actually a couple of guys setting up for the weekend).

Tight quarters as usual coming over the ridge. Definitely recommend snowshoes from Pierce to the hut and back to Crawford. There were some bottomless postholes and the trail was still soft.

Was a little surprised to see that the Mt. Clinton trail actually looked pretty packed out.

Not much to see today due to the weather, but I’ll post a few pics to Insta anyway at quantum.moxie.
