| Water Crossing Notes: |
The brook at the start of Lalish Trail looks like it was flash frozen in place. Pretty neat. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The only notable blowdown I recall was around the low point of Ravine Loop. Noted a new sign ("Saddleback Mt. Trails") near the start of the unmaintained portion of Old Mountain Rd. The walk from the trailhead to the start of Lalish Trail is now blazed as well. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Best to leash dogs in the area of the trailhead due to the presence of farm animals. |

| Comments: |
I really enjoy this trail system and it was a good day for a tour around the mountain. Mostly bare ground but there were some icy bits. The ledges at the northern outlook were coated in black ice. I only noticed it due to the sun's reflection. These conditions will all change after tonight's storm. If the forecast holds snowshoes will be the best means of travel.
A timber harvest is underway on the state-owned parcel of land on the NW side of the mountain. This harvest will eliminate the current route of Saddleback Mtn. Trail but the Northwood Conservation Commission is planning to rebuild the trail on a new route after the harvest is completed this spring. |
