Comments
Comments: We were worried seeing bare ground in Lincoln, but the Saturday night storm did drop 4" of much-needed snow in Franconia Notch, increasing to about 8" near the summit. Heavy snowshoe traffic on Sunday packed this down to be easily bare-bootable from the Basin all the way to Liberty summit. We snowshoed up and booted down [therefore leaving the trail in worse shape]. There is thin cover with rocks showing below 3000', but snowshoes were manageable from the car. There is lots of fluffy transportable snow sitting around up high so definitely recommend snowshoes once the wind and snow pick up on Monday. We enjoyed zero wind on the summit at noon (Mt Washington was reporting 2mph at the time). Great day on the mountain as always!
