Comments
Comments: Hiking up Crawford Path Trail to Mt. Pierce was excellent. You can get away with spikes. But everything turned to worst when I headed to Mt. Eisenhower. Two hikers post holed the crap out of Crawford Path all the way to the summit of Mt. Eisenhower the smart thing for those two should have turned around after pierce and head down and leave the breaking out to someone with snowshoes. Lucky enough I was right on there tail and cleaned up the mess they left behind. its not perfect but it really could use a few more people with snowshoes to smooth out the post holes. It was really sunny on the trail but the air temperature was two degrees so I understand the desire to hike all the way to Mt. Eisenhower but never thought to carry snowshoes. It was very careless and inconsiderate. I feel the need to post this. they should have at least tried to carry snowshoes i would have respected you for carrying them but you didn't. Crawford Path trail needs some snowshoe love before its ruined with spike boot post holes. please wear snowshoes this weekend between pierce and Eisenhower other hikers will appreciate it. Its a popular trail. A lot of hikers will use this trail in the coming days to enjoy the beauty of the whites. if it was post holed to crap those boot holes would freeze over and someone would get very hurt. Someone would twist an ankle and have a really bad day out there.
