A beautiful morning/early afternoon on the ridge, blue sky except for the approaching clouds to the south. Had Lincoln and Lafayette all to myself. Wore Hillsound Crampon PROs (very nice traction!)the whole way, and didn't feel the need for snowshoes anywhere--good thing because I replaced the snowshoes in my pack with rain gear at the car. Not only no fresh drifted snow of any significance anywhere on the trail, but actually had to pick around in places on the ridge to avoid walking on bare rock with the crampons. |
