We barebooted the road walk, some folks put on spikes at N Twin TH, and we all switched to snowshoes around 4mi from Seven Dwarves. We kept snowshoes on through most of the descent. Trail was broken until most of the way up to N Twin. The last 0.5mi or so to N Twin was drifty, filled in since Saturday’s report, and completely unbroken when we got there (snowshoes plunged 1-2ft deep) but was well-broken by the end of our nine person group and on our descent. The section between N and S Twin was similarly drifty with deeper snow. S Twin summit had minimal snow up top (barely enough to keep snowshoes on). We only saw two other hikers, one of whom had come from Garfield and was quite relieved to get a respite from his trailbreaking efforts! |
