Microspikes were fine, with some loose snow over a packed base. Once we in the shelter of the woods it turned out to be a beautiful but windy day on the trail!
When we reached Bald Knob, the wind was howling, possibly with wind gusts as high as 30 mph. My guess that it was probably about 5 degrees with wind chill. |
