Small streams are open. My boot and snowshoe broke through the ice on the widest crossing. Totally avoidable. Somehow socks stayed dry |

-9 at 6am in the parking lot. Trail is well packed until the Yellow Jacket/Bridge. Skiers went a little farther but I broke trail from the bridge to Sandwich Mtn Trail. Used snowshoes there and back. Sandwich Mtn trail is well packed. People had been out the previous day after the snow fall. Eerily calm and quiet. No birds or squirrels until the hike out. Beautiful views all day. Great view at the summit of Waterville. Still not enough snow. Snowshoes are still getting snagged on twigs and rocks under the trail. |
