Comments
Comments: Group of 5 S to N across the ridge with car spot. Snow conditions varied quite a bit. At High Five/ Wilson Hill N for about 1.5 miles the snow was an unbroken 4"-5" on average over a variable hard base with much deeper drifts in places. Beyond that the trail is largely beneath dense evergreens which captured most of the snow, leaving only an inch or so of fresh snow atop mostly bare ground, except in exposed areas. We did not bring snowshoes; if we had we'd have been taking them on and off all day. The trail was marked well throughout, even through the recent timber harvest where the loggers left the stubs of blazed trees.
