Comments
Comments: Snow was well packed but a little loose with rocks & roots poking out here and there. Very little ice. Snow depth off trail was variable with a lot of drifting. Snowshoes would have been overkill, and even spikes might not be needed; I took mine off partway down and bare booted out without any trouble & less stumbley. My route was broken out to the first (lower) ledge on N Peak. Lots of spur snowshoes tracks veering off into nowhere in that area. The AT northbound also looked broken out, but not the AT southbound. Ran into a party of 5 and a party of 2. Chilly on the summit, overcast.
