My truck was able to make it up to the trailhead with 4WD. I would not recommend this after the snow today even with a capable car.. yikes |

Snow day for this teacher meant a quick morning hike with my pup before the bulk of the storm. Was on trail by 7:30am - snowshoes on almost immediately and stayed on throughout the day. Read reports of people breaking trail yesterday- it was very easy to follow today, thank you! Views on Starr King for miles. Once we headed to Waumbek the wind began to pick up and there were some drifts that I packed down with my snowshoes. Snow began to fall once we were back on Starr King and heading down - made a quick descent. Only saw one other hiker when I headed down Starr King (also wearing snowshoes). I'm sure this report is pointless since the storm, although the snow seemed light as I was hiking it still put a significant layer on the trail. Stay safe |
