Comments
Comments: With the wind ripping above it was a good day to stay in the woods. Yesterday's storm delivered some great snowshoe conditions and Pillsbury is always a good place to take advantage of them. Snow depths down low were 6-12 inches and up on the ridge they were consistently around a foot with deeper drifts. Needless to say it was snowshoes round-trip.

The park road, Five Summers, Bear Pond, and Mad Road were groomed for and traveled by snowmobiles, making for easy walking. The Greenway had one set of filled in snowshoe tracks. Ridge Link was untouched except for some deer tracks. Altogether I broke out two and half miles of this six mile loop.

At Kittredge Hill I did the tiny bushwhack to the true summit. The NH500 register has either been removed or was taken down by a tree that has fallen right at the high point. I looked around and didn't see it. The cairn is still there.

Weather started out cloudy but the sun came out by the time I was headed up Bear Pond. I didn't really feel the wind too much until I started down Ridge Link.
