Comments: What a perfect day for hiking Passaconaway . I got to the trailhead at 9:30 and the lot was about half full. Bare booted the road to the trail and then decided pretty fast that my snowshoes would be much better on my feet than on my back. Trail was soft and powdery but well broken out. I only encountered about 7 others all day , all but two wearing snowshoes, so there should be a great base underneath whatever fell during Saturday night’s storm. Quick visit at the summit. Very quick descent ! Didn’t look like anyone had come from Walden trail in awhile. Great day meeting other aspiring gridiots and grid finishers. Upon return to the parking lot, several people were enjoying the groomed cross-country ski trails there. Be aware,we are sharing the parking with them too. It can get busy on a beautiful day like this one.
