 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
We parked at boat ramp parking at Wellington State Park - was not plowed but usually it DOES get plowed for all the snowmobile trailer parking. Probably will be plowed in a day or 2. Everyone in lot had 4WD of some sort or another. |

Terrific time of year to snowshoe on over to Cliff Island - which requires reservations for organized youth groups to visit (during other seasons). DEEP snow on island - perhaps a foot or more - made snowshoeing there quite tiring. Fun to explore the cliff end of island, the picnic tables, and the minimal infrastructure. Once back on the mainland, we continued on the nature trail to the beaches and then returned along nature trail. It's pretty-well broken out now. There was only about 8" of new snow on nature trail but had not been broken out since the last storm. Was light and fluffy snow - quite beautiful. |
