I got an early start to take advantage of cold morning temperatures. It worked out good as I was able to wear spikes from car to car. Snowshoes went for ride. I took care to stay in the center of the trail as the edges were soft.
The trail held but it was softer as I descended and the spikes balled up on some sections to the roadwalk. I was the only hiker today but a skier was heading up as I was heading out.
With warmer temperatures coming, I recommend snowshoes. More compaction will be helpful to hold the trail together especially higher up. If ya need it, get it. |
