Comments
Comments: Arrived way later than I wanted after an hour accident delay on 91 then encountered rain downpours, sleet and a whiteout so I knew it would be interesting on trail. Lots of postholes at the start but the majority of the traffic went to the falls. Old Bridle Path had a good snowshoe track with minimal postholes on the sides. Smooth going until the trail maintenance sign then heavy fresh snow plus wind blown snow off the trees made for trail breaking. Once on the ridge the sun was blazing which made for great views but 500% heavier snow which stuck to my boots and snowshoes. Ended up turning around before the hut as on any steep incline the top layer of snow gave out sending me back from whence I came. Flew back down with only one unintentional buttslide completing a great day in the Whites. Didn't see another soul all day.
